ATP Halle Quarterfinal Predictions Including Marcos Giron vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Marcos Giron Halle

We reach the quarterfinal round at the ATP Noventi Open in Halle on Friday. Four men will move on to Saturday’s semifinals. But who will it be? We share our thoughts on the ATP Halle quarterfinal matches. Who do you think will win?

ATP Halle Quarterfinal Predictions

Philipp Kohlschreiber vs Andrey Rublev

Rublev is a rising star and likely future Major winner. He’s playing well in Halle, and looks like his normal dangerous self. Kohlschreiber, meanwhile, is in the midst of one late good run in the twilight of his career. The German did well at the French Open and loves the grass. Don’t be surprised with an upset here.
Prediction: Kohlschreiber in 3

Lloyd Harris vs Nikoloz Basilashvili

Basilashvili has been horrendous since he was arrested for domestic assault last May. On the other hand, he has found two strong runs earlier this year, and could very well be in the midst of another. On the other hand, Lloyd Harris does well on the grass and has been clearly improving the past few years. I think this is Harris’ chance to make a real impact on Tour this week.
Prediction: Harris in 2

Ugo Humbert vs Sebastian Korda

What a matchup we get here. Two rising youngsters are in the midst of good runs while rapidly improving on Tour. Humbert won two titles late last year while Korda won his first right before Roland Garros. Both look strong on grass, too. Humbert has the bigger win coming in (an upset over Alexander Zverev in the second round), but Korda just looks more impressive to me overall, especially on the quick grass.
Prediction: Korda in 3

Marcos Giron vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Auger-Aliassime comes into this match after a victory over Roger Federer. Almost as impressively, took out Jan-Lennard Struff. Giron’s rise these past few months is as impressive as it is shocking. Auger-Aliassime is the better player and more talented, but Giron might like the grass better, and his run is too improbable not to continue. Also, don’t be shocked if Auger-Aliassime has a bit of a letdown after taking out Federer on grass.
Prediction: Giron in 2
