ATP Rome Masters Day 2 Predictions Including Jannik Sinner vs Ugo Humbert

Day 2 of the ATP Rome Masters features 13 great men’s tennis matches. Don’t worry, we at LWOT will share our predictions for every single match. We look at four matches in this article, but we also have two more articles. One features Kei Nishikori vs Fabio Fognini and the other features Miomir Kecmanovic vs Aslan Karatsev.

ATP Rome Masters Day 2 Predictions

Guido Pella vs Marton Fucsovics

This should be a tough match to predict, and possible a tough one to watch. Both players have real potential, but neither has really done much with it. Pella has reached the Top 20 but has never found sustained success on the big stage. Fucsovics is a solid player who doesn’t lose to players he isn’t supposed to, but he similarly hasn’t found success on bigger stages. Expect a tight match, but Pella isn’t playing as well as his opponent currently.
Prediction: Fucsovics in 2

Gianluca Mager vs Alex de Minaur

It is really tempting to pick the upset here. Mager is playing pretty well, and he likes the clay better than his Australian opponent does. De Minaur is a more talented player, though, and he isn’t particularly bad on the clay himself, just inexperienced. I expect a tight match.
Prediction: de Minaur in 3

Hubert Hurkacz vs Lorenzo Musetti

I am very excited about this matchup. Both of these players are future talents, though neither is quite of the Major-winning caliber. Still, we should expect each of these men to spend some time close to or in the Top 10 in their careers. Right now, Hurkacz is probably further in his development. Musetti, though, likes the clay and is playing well, though he’s been in a slight slump the past few weeks.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 3

Jannik Sinner vs Ugo Humbert

This is a great matchup of future potential top players. I expect both of these young men to be competing in later rounds of huge tournaments in a few short years. Right now, though? Sinner is better, and he’s a monster on clay to boot. I’m taking the Italian.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
