We move on to Tuesday at the WTA Linz Open, with eight matches on tap. We predict all of them for you. I look at four in this article, and we predict the other four in a separate article.
WTA Linz Open Day 2 Predictions
Sorana Cirstea vs Julia Grabher
Cirstea is in decent form at the moment, though she is not the most consistent of talented players on the WTA Tour. Grabher, meanwhile, is trying to work her way into the upper echelons. She’s met some relative success recently, but she shouldn’t be able to stick with Cirstea if the Romanian is playing well.
Prediction: Cirstea in 2
Harmony Tan vs Barbora Krejcikova
Tan looked pretty strong in qualifying, but she’s not playing nearly as well as Krejcikova. The Czech reached the fourth round at the French Open and took a set off Victoria Azarenka in Ostraba. Krejcikova should roll.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 2
Victoria Kuzmova vs Stefanie Voegele
Kuzmova hasn’t played since the French Open, while Voegele came here through qualifying. Voegele didn’t look particularly strong in qualifying, though, and Kuzmova is generally in better form recently. I don’t think this will likely be a particularly easy win for the Slovakian, though she should come through here with a victory.
Prediction: Kuzmova in 3
Camila Giorgi vs Sara Sorribes Tormo
The story of Giorgi’s career is a long and up-and-down one. It’s probably one that we should discuss before every match of hers, just because it’s important to realize her huge potential. Unfortunately for her, that potential hasn’t been reached recently, or in a long time, really. Sorribes Tormo isn’t playing great tennis right now, but she’s looking stronger and more consistent than Giorgi at the moment.
Prediction: Sorribes Tormo in 3
