Last Word On Tennis Podcast: Novak Djokovic Default & US Open Final Stages Predictions

The Last Word On Tennis team gather to discuss the Novak Djokovic default and what that means to the tournament. Who will win the 2020 US Open?

It has been a Grand Slam of zero fans but seemingly infinite storylines. One can only imagine the crowd reactions to some of the events of the first week and a half of action at Flushing Meadows. The Last Word On Tennis team has reconvened just before the quarterfinals begin to take their take on the action, and predict who will go on to win each tournament.

Djokovic & His Default

Robert Heath and Damian Kust react to the incident and subsequent social media storm served up by the world #1’s decision to hit the ball away in frustration. The fact that he hit a line judge was very unfortunate for all parties, but has the reaction to it been correct on all sides?

The Men’s Draw

The Novak Djokovic default has left the door wide open in the men’s draw. The panelists assess the action so far and then predict the quarterfinals. We also get a decision on who will win their maiden Grand Slam title. The first new winner for six years (thanks for the stat Damian).

The Women’s Draw

There have been an incredible number of stories in the women’s tournament. None of the big favorites have lost, but there have been surprise runs elsewhere. There are also three moms left in the tournament at the quarterfinal stage for the first time in Grand Slam history.

The Quiz

The team took the quiz by storm in the pre-tournament preview. Will Damian & Rob be up to the task again this week? Will you be up to the ask? Listen in to find out!
