ATP Delray Beach Day 2 Predictions Including Milos Raonic vs Denis Istomin

Who will win on Tuesday at the ATP Delray Beach Open? There’s a day full of incredible matches ahead, and we’re here to give you our thoughts on all of them. This article contains five, and we have predictions for the other five matches in a second article.

ATP Delray Beach Day 2 Predictions

Cedrik-Marcel Stebe vs Bernard Tomic

Tomic got in as a Lucky Loser after losing 6-2 6-0 to Ernests Gulbis in the final round of qualifying. That could mean the Australian isn’t really interested in being here. Then again, Tomic has a habit of messing around, and nothing would be more on-brand than winning after his last match. Definitely can’t count on that happening, though. Stebe is the safer pick.
Prediction: Stebe in 2

Steve Johnson vs Henri Laaksonen

Johnson has lost a bit of both power and consistency from his best a few seasons ago, but he is still very solid and likes these American hard courts. He’ll move on.

Noah Rubin vs Jason Jung

Rubin is one of a growing list of talented Americans who just haven’t been able to put things together at the professional level. Rubin had a Top 20 victory over Benoit Paire in reaching the Australian Open third round back in 2016, but he really never turned that breakthrough into sustained success. He did well to qualify for this tournament, though. Jung might not have Rubin’s overall talent, but he’s playing well right now.
Prediction: Jung in 3

Miomir Kecmanovic vs Jordan Thompson

Kecmanovic is a rising talent who has not yet found his full consistency. Thompson has been playing well recently, but he’s not as talented as the young Serbian. These two met last month in Doha, and Kecmanovic won easily. It’s hard to see why this match would be any different.
Prediction: Kecmanovic in 2

Milos Raonic vs Denis Istomin

Raonic played so well in Australia before falling to Djokovic. He did not play well, however, last week in New York. An extra week of rest and practice should be what he needed to get back into his blistering form from Melbourne.
Prediction: Raonic in 2
