After correctly identifying all the victors in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the ITF Dubai W100, we now move on to the final.
ITF Dubai W100 Final Prediction
Ana Bogdan vs Daria Snigur
No previous meetings
Though it is a final between two unseeded players ranked outside the top 100 it still has a high-class feel to it.
Bogdan arrives into the final on a nine-match winning streak. The Romanian is looking for back-to-back titles having triumphed at Saint-Etienne in November. However, on that occasion it was made much easier by her opponent, Oceane Dodin, defaulting the final.
Snigur has come all the way through qualifying to get to this stage. In fact, her second qualifying match was the only time Snigur dropped a set all week. Seeing off Kristina Mladenovic in straight sets in the semifinal, it is Snigur who sets the benchmark for the best form on offer here.
In that semifinal Snigur was 6-3 5-1 up but found herself 6-5 down having lost five games in a row. That the Ukrainian was able to gather herself together shows an immense amount of character, especially for a 17-year-old.
Bogdan herself had a real semifinal battle. Greet Minnen won the first set but Bogdan was able to turn up her level. The Romanian then ran away with the following two sets.
It is always difficult to predict a final as both players have shown good form. If Snigur remains undaunted by being in a senior final then the title could be hers. That would be some way to launch into her first senior campaign. Bogdan will have something to say about that, but take the young Ukrainian to win here.
Prediction: Snigur in 2
