Day 3 of the ATP Montreal Rogers Cup is here! An action-packed week continues as we move on to second round action in Montreal. Who will rise to the occasion and who will fall short? Read on to find out! We also have predictions for more ATP Montreal Day 3 matches.

ATP Montreal Rogers Cup Day 3 Predictions

Kyle Edmund vs Daniil Medvedev

Head to Head: 2-0 Edmund

Kyle Edmund battles Daniil Medvedev in the second round of Montreal. Edmund beat Nick Kyrgios in straights in his first round match at the Rogers Cup. Medvedev had a bye in the first round. Medvedev made the final of Washington last week before losing to Kyrgios.

Edmund leads the head to head 2-0, including a win on hard. However, since their last meeting in May of last year, Medvedev has soared while Edmund has not done as well. Medvedev has continued to improve his counterpunching-based flat game. Edmund’s forehand is huge, but he can often spray unforced errors when pushed hard. Expect Medvedev to goad Edmund into overhitting his groundstrokes. Medvedev wins.
Prediction: Medvedev in 3

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Hubert Hurkacz

Head to Head: 2-0 Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on Hubert Hurkacz in the second round of the Rogers Cup. This is Tsitsipas’ first match of the tournament. Tsitsipas made the semifinals of Washington last week before falling to Nick Kyrgios. Hurkacz did well to beat Taylor Fritz in straight sets in his first match. Fritz had played very well in recent weeks, so that was a very good win for Hurkacz.

Tstitsipas leads the head to head 2-0 (not counting Next Gen Finals). This includes a three-set win for Tsitsipas over Hurkacz in Dubai this year. Tsitsipas is just a little more consistent and precise compared to Hurkacz. Expect Tsitsipas to win a fairly straightforward match here.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 2

Borna Coric vs Adrian Mannarino

Head to Head: 3-0 Mannarino

Borna Coric battles Adrian Mannarino for the right to go to the Montreal round of 16. Coric recovered from a set deficit and won a third-set tiebreak to beat Peter Gojowczyk in the first round. Mannarino was very impressive in taking down Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round. The Frenchman defended and counterpunched beautifully in that match.

Mannarino leads the head to head 3-0. Mannarino beat Coric in a third set tiebreak in the semifinals of Rosmalen this season. Coric finds it difficult to hit through Mannarino and Mannarino’s flat ball gives Coric issues. Given Coric’s struggles and Mannarino’s great play in the first round, expect Mannarino to beat Coric again in this one.
Prediction: Mannarino in 3

Karen Khachanov vs Stan Wawrinka

Head to Head: 2-0 Wawrinka

Karen Khachanov battles Stan Wawrinka in the second round of the Rogers Cup. Khachanov has not yet played in Montreal this week, and lost his first match in Washington last week to Jo-Wilfred Tsonga. Wawrinka beat Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets in his first match, his huge groundstrokes hitting the mark.

Wawrinka leads the head to head 2-0, beating Khachanov in straight sets in both of their meetings. This match will come down to which player can get the first strike in and limit their unforced errors, as both players have a huge game. Given how the past couple matches have gone, and how well Wawrinka played in beating Dimitrov, I expect Wawrinka to win this match as well.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 3
