ATP Estoril Day 3 Predictions Including Gael Monfils vs Reilly Opelka

Big names including Gael Monfils and Stefanos Tsitsipas finally take the court in Estoril on Wednesday. Monfils will be making his long-awaited return after being sidelined since the BNP Paribas Open with an achilles injury.

ATP Estoril Day 3 Predictions

John Millman vs Joao Domingues
H2H- First Meeting

Joao Domingues has been quite the story in the early stages of the Estoril Open. The 25-year-old qualified after receiving a wil dcard into the qualifying draw. He took advantage of his draw and defeated a rusty Alex de Minau,r who was playing in his first clay court match of the year. The qualifier has his work cut out for him going up against John Millman, who took care of Bernard Tomic 6-3 6-0 on Tuesday. I think Domingues will keep it close, but his run will come to an end.
Prediction: Millman in 3

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Guido Andreozzi
H2H- Tsitsipas leads 1-0

Stefanos Tsitsipas hasn’t been able to string together back-to-back wins on clay so far this season, losing to Medvedev in Monte Carlo and Struff in Barcelona. While he hasn’t played great on clay so far, everyone knows what he’s capable of doing on this surface. I don’t think he’ll have any issues here against the Argentine.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 2

Jeremy Chardy vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
H2H- First Meeting

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is into the round of 16 after picking up three good wins en route. The Spaniard got past Bjorn Fratangelo and Daniel Evans in qualifying before defeating Taylor Fritz in the first round of the main draw. Chardy will be his toughest opponent yet, but Davidovich Fokina might be in the midst of his breakthrough run on tour. I think the 19-year-old qualifier continues his run and advances to the quarterfinals.
Prediction: Davidovich Fokina in 3

Gael Monfils vs Reilly Opelka
H2H- First Meeting

Reilly Opelka looked good in his first round win over Pedro Sousa. I thought the more experienced player would win, but Opelka showed that he can compete on this surface. He’ll now face fan favorite Gael Monfils, who was having one of the best seasons in his career before getting hurt. Monfils has learned not to rush back from injury at this stage in his career, so I don’t think he’ll be playing hurt. Monfils might be a step slow in the beginning, but he should win here.
Prediction: Monfils in 2
