ATP Estoril Day 2 Predictions Including Frances Tiafoe vs Mikhail Kukushkin

Day 2 at the Estoril Open is jam-packed as only four main draw singles matches were on the schedule for Monday. Last year’s winner Joao Sousa and runner up Frances Tiafoe are both in action

Joao Sousa vs Alexei Popyrin
H2H- First Meeting

Australian Alexei Popyrin is in the midst of his best season on tour in his young career. The 19-year-old came through qualifying in Monte Carlo and now has qualified in Estoril. Defeating Joao Sousa anywhere isn’t easy, but the Portugal native seems to play his best tennis at home winning the tournament in 2018. Popyrin’s game can cause Sousa some problems, but I think Sousa will get through in the end. Sousa in 3

Frances Tiafoe vs Mikhail Kukushkin
H2H- Tiafoe leads 1-0

Frances Tiafoe is looking to pick up his first clay win of 2019 after losing in the first round of the Barcelona Open to Jaume Munar. Tiafoe has done well on clay in the past including a finals appearance last year in Estoril. Kukushkin is typically a tough opponent to face, but I like the American’s chances to advance to the second round. Tiafoe in 2

Malek Jaziri vs Nicolas Jarry
H2H- First Meeting

After a disappointing golden swing, Chilean Nicolas Jarry finally had things go his way reaching the quarterfinals in Barcelona as a lucky loser. Jarry had some impressive wins en route including back to back third-set tiebreaker wins over Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov. I think Jarry is going to pick up where he left off in Barcelona as he should get past Jaziri comfortably. Jarry in 2

Bernard Tomic vs John Millman
H2H- Tomic leads 1-0

It’s never easy to guess which version of Bernard Tomic is going to show up on any given day. Millman is pretty much the exact opposite as he’s shown throughout his career, he’s a consummate professional that plays every point like it’s his last. I can see Tomic managing to keep this match close, but Millman should win. Millman in 3
