WTA Stuttgart Final Prediction: Petra Kvitova vs Anett Kontaveit

The 2019 WTA Stuttgart final has arrived, a week full of thrilling clay court tennis sees Petra Kvitova, already a WTA champion in 2019, taking on Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, who has just one career title.

Petra Kvitova vs Anett Kontaveit
H2H: 3-2 Kvitova

Kontaveit will have hope heading into this matchup even though she’s the lower ranked and far less accomplished of the pair. She beat Kvitova in Brisbane in straight sets to start the season and also split clay meetings with her last season, winning at the French Open after losing in Madrid in a tight three set contest. Kvitova also has more wear on the tires as she dropped sets to both Sevastova and Kiki Bertens in her last two matches, both of which were challenging wins. Kontaveit benefited from a walkover against Naomi Osaka and thus got a day off because of Osaka’s abdominal injury.

The Estonian should take at least a set in this matchup and I will back her to win the whole thing in an upset for her 2nd career WTA title. This matches promises to be a classic battle. Prediction: Kontaveit in 3 sets
