ATP Miami Day 3 Predictions Including Novak Djokovic vs Bernard Tomic

The first round of men’s action in Miami is in the books, which means that we see some of the biggest names in tennis start their bid for the title today. Who will win these matches? Let’s find out.

ATP Miami Day 3 Predictions

Alexander Bublik vs Nick Kyrgios

This match will have almost an exhibition feel to it. You’ll probably be able to put the entire match on a highlight reel as well. Both players are great shotmakers that will try to put on a show. If Kyrgios is motivated, he’ll get through, but I feel like Bublik is in better form right now after coming through qualifying and winning his first round match over Tennys Sandgren. I think he pulls off the upset.
Prediction: Bublik in 3

Dominic Thiem vs Hubert Hurkacz

Dominic Thiem didn’t get any breaks with the draw having to face Hurkacz in his first match after winning the biggest title of his career in Indian Wells. Hurkacz is a talented next-gen player who seems to be having a breakthrough in his young career. He played flawlessly in his first round win over Berrettini, and I expect that to continue against a player in Thiem who might be a little fatigued after the run in the desert.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Gael Monfils vs Robin Haase

Monfils looked great in Indian Wells before having to pull out with an injury. He hasn’t pulled out of Miami yet, which is a good sign considering the quick turnaround. If he plays how he’s been playing, he won’t have any issues against Haase, who is typically inconsistent.
Prediction: Monfils in 2

Novak Djokovic vs Bernard Tomic

When the draw came everyone expected Djokovic to face Berdych in his first match, but Berdych had to withdraw with his ongoing back issue. Tomic doesn’t present quite the challenge that Berdych would’ve, but maybe the Australian will get up for a second round encounter against the #1 player in the world. Djokovic should be fresh after the early round loss in Indian Wells. I expect him to come out strong and win this one comfortably.
Prediction: Djokovic in 2
