ATP Miami Day 2 Predictions
Sam Querrey-David Ferrer
David Ferrer enters the Miami Open via wildcard as his retirement tour continues. Ferrer showed he still has a little left in the tank defeating Sandgren in Acapulco before falling to Zverev. The match will be on Querrey’s racquet, but I think Ferrer will do just enough as we’ve seen from him throughout his career. Ferrer in 3
Feliciano Lopez-Benoit Paire
Feliciano Lopez turned back the clock in Indian Wells defeating Tomas Berdych in the first round and managed to go the distance with Karen Khachanov in the second round. He has a great opportunity to get past the first round this week again against an unpredictable player in Benoit Paire. Lopez leads the H2H 2-1, and I like his chances off pulling off the upset to advance to the second round and face Grigor Dimitrov. Lopez in 3
Ernests Gulbis-Miomir Kecmanovic
It’ll be interesting to see how Kecmanovic follows up his run last week as a lucky loser in Indian Wells. The Serbian reached the quarterfinals before falling to Milos Raonic. Gulbis hasn’t done anything that would lead you to believe he has much of a chance in this match, but he’s always dangerous. I think Kecmanovic follows up his run with a first-round win in Miami. Chris Eubanks-Damir Dzumhur
American Chris Eubanks started the year off well qualifying in Melbourne at the Australian Open and also in the New York Open. Even though he hasn’t got it done in the main draw, he’s still playing great tennis so far this year. I think he takes full advantage of the wildcard and wins his first match at a Masters 1000 event.
