ATP Delray Beach Open Day 3 Predictions – Including Lukas Lacko vs John Isner

The first four of the eight second-round matches will be played on Wednesday at the Delray Beach Open. In its opening two days, the tournament has witnessed its fair share of highs and lows. While defending champion Frances Tiafoe lost in the first round, Juan Martin del Potro opened his tally of wins for the season. But what about the rest of the playing field? Here is taking a look at the men’s singles action of the day:

Delray Beach Open Day 3 Predictions

Andreas Seppi vs Jordan Thompson

The two have played just one match against each other–in the second round of the 2019 Australian Open–and the Italian won that encounter in straight sets. Seppi has not exactly painted a picture of consistency this season, but his experience and doggedness put him ahead of the Australian in this match-up.

Adrian Mannarino vs Denis Istomin

As we had predicted, Istomin did take out Feliciano Lopez in the first round. But replicating the feat against Mannarino will be a trickier task for Istomin. The wily French left-hander, who is seeded eighth in the event, is unpredictable at best but possesses an array of shots which have troubled many a player in the past. One could, then, say that this match – while being low-key – remains one to follow.

Lloyd Harris vs Daniel Evans

Arguably, this is the most promising match of the day in Delray Beach. Both players, who will take on each other for the first time in their careers – across both the ATP World and Challenger Tours – are brimming with confidence. Harris on account of his recent climb in the rankings, and Evans by consistently stacking up good results. On the day, however, despite their respective momentums, Evans with his experience looks like he would get the win over the South African.

Lukas Lacko vs John Isner

Seeking better results, and after an early loss at the New York Open, the American no. 1 took a wild card at the Delray Beach Open. The problem for the American has been that he has lost matches which he ought to have won. And this match could not have had better timing. Isner has a 3-0 lead in his head-to-head against the Slovakian and although their last meeting came around two years ago, in 2017, Delray Beach’s second seed looks like he should make it to the quarterfinals.
Prediction: Isner in 2
