The Pro Foul Podcast: If only I had Sam Mewis’ height

On the latest Pro Foul Podcast, the women's soccer trio discusses the NWSL Fall Series, Costa Ricans making history and much more!
Pro Foul Podcast Sam Mewis

Podcast — Ready for your weekly dosage of women’s soccer updates? The Pro Foul Podcast team is back for another show! This week, we recorded on Thursday and not Tuesday, so if the crew is a little bit wonky, then that’s why!

As usual, the crew of R.J. Allen, Rachael Kriger and André Carlisle chat about the National Women’s Soccer League and the Fall Series competition. André obsesses over the fact that Ashley Sanchez played in a No. 10 role while Rachael gushes about the fact that two Costa Rican Women’s National Team players faced off for the first time in NWSL history.

It was supposed to happen in the Challenge Cup, but as Rachael says, “It’s better late than never!”

Finally, the crew takes a look over the pond to England. Rachael continues to brag to André about how “her team” Everton is doing so well, while R.J. and André show amazement at the fact that Rose Lavelle did a slide tackle and didn’t break anything!

Below are the show notes and the biographies on our podcasters.

André Carlisle writes some, tweets a lot and tires not to let soccer ruin his life — and he often fails at all three. Still, the sport is his favorite thing in the world and it is an honor to have it step on his emotions. If you want to read things that André writes, or laugh at his angst, you can find him on Twitter @not_carlisle, covering the Washington Spirit at Black and Red United or writing about Chelsea at We Ain’t Got Not History.

Also, like any dejected wannabe columnist in this era of digital media, he also has a newsletter called No Love in Fear — though he’s no quite sure what he’s doing with it yet. You have been warned!
