HOUSTON, TEXAS (May 9, 2018) — Allysha Chapman has a new home in Houston.
The former Boston Breakers defender and Canadian international was traded to the Dash on Wednesday.
Chapman joined the North Carolina Courage this off-season during the Boston Breakers dispersal draft. The Breakers folded on Jan. 28, leaving many players without a home. She has made one appearance for the Courage this season.
Houston Dash Sign Allysha Chapman
Chapman was one of two Breakers picked up by North Carolina. The Courage also picked up defender Julie King.
She joins fellow Breakers goalkeeper Sammy Jo Prudhomme and forward Kyah Simon in Houston.
In addition to Chapman, the Dash also received North Carolina’s two second-round draft picks in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. In return, the Courage received Houston’s first-round draft pick.
Chapman is not a new face in Houston. Back in 2014-15, Chapman made 14 appearances for the Dash.
A regular member of the Canadian Women’s National Team, Chapman has made 51 appearances for the senior team. She has also tallied a pair of assists.
Chapman was on Canada’s team that won a bronze medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
