Podcast – Hello Rapids Fans! Today we review what went wrong as the Colorado Rapids lost to Orlando City SC on Sunda. Mark goes another nerdy stat rant and Matt does some film breakdown on all those yellow cards the Rapids got.

Holding The High Line: Sam Nicholson Trade Analysis

The guys then look forward to this weekend’s match against Sporting KC. We discuss what could happen and what the Rapids need to do to get a result. We look at Sporting’s home form and play in general. Spoiler alert: it’s not good for the Pids.

We then do a deep dive into the Sam Nicholson-Eric Miller trade. The guys discuss Miller’s Burgundy and Blue legacy and what the Rapids will miss. We have an interesting conversation about what Nicholson’s role with the team could be and the midfield three system assignments in general.

The show ends with a full segment of From Field 20 with Matt providing injury updates all around.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since it started. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state or trying a new beer. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio. Mark Goodman, aka the Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis. Follow him on Twitter @rapidsrabbi.
