Last Word SC Radio: Gold Cup Final, Coaching Moves In LA, And MLS Transfers

Matt Pollard is joined by Sean Garmer and Dan Sperry. We start of breaking down the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final. We discuss the match and how the United States Men’s National Team were able come out on top over Jamaica. The guys take stock on what this means for the Reggae Boyz and which USMNT players moved up or down in the pecking order.

In segment two, we’re talking everything MLS in Los Angeles. Matt rants about Curt Onalfo getting fired and Sigi Schmid coming in. Sean and Dan are healthy skeptics on whether he’ll turn things around. Matt also shares some quotes from the press conference and is convinced the Galaxy Front Office have no clothes on. We then discuss Bob Bradley signing with Los Angeles FC and what it means for their future roster construction.

In the Round Table we talk transfers. Dan sheds some light on the Dom Dwyer move and what it means for Sporting KC. The guys talk about how Orlando City SC is going to make it work with Cyle Larin staying. Then we transition to talking about Jonathan dos Santos joining his brother with the Galaxy. We finish of the show with some MLS Weekend Pick ‘Ems.

Share this pod with your friends from Orlando to get them prepped for Dwyer’s debut.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and an Environmental Engineer. When he’s not saving pipelines and cleaning up messes, he’s getting his butt kicked by Insanity, falling down the Rocky Mountains, or watching sports. His first sports love was the LA Kings, though MLS didn’t exist at the time. Once called the Shakespeare of LWOS, he covers the LA Galaxy, Colorado Rapids, and Saint Louis FC. Like the Galaxy, he too was handcrafted in LA.
