COMMERCE CITY, CO (April 3, 2017) – Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will officially host the U.S. Men’s National Team World Cup Qualifier on Thursday, June 8th. They will play Trinidad & Tobago. The match is scheduled for a 5:50 pm MT kick off.

This will be the third world cup cycle that DSG Park will be hosting a USMNT game. The most recent match was the famous/infamous Snow Clasico game in 2013. The Yanks defeated Costa Rica 1-0 on a goal from Clint Dempsey. The USMNT is 4-1-0 in the state of Colorado since 1991.

“We are honored to once again welcome the U.S. Men’s National Team and host a crucial World Cup qualifier at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park,” Colorado Rapids President Tim Hinchey said. “The energy in our fortress and the support from the Colorado faithful will be a huge advantage for the USMNT as they continue their quest to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.”

The Colorado Rapids have a chance to have players from both nations playing in this match. Goalkeeper Tim Howard has started three of the four Hexagonal matches, missing one due to injury. Right back Mekeil Williams has been a regular call up for T&T as well in WCQ.

The US now sits in fourth place in the CONCACAF Hexagonal after four games. Trinidad & Tobago is currently in sixth place (last) with three points and negative four goal differential. Their only points came on a 1-0 home win against Panama.

“In a World Cup Qualifying campaign, winning games at home is critical. In all ways, Colorado provides a great environment for our team. We are at an important stage of the campaign, and we look forward to the great support.” said USMNT Head Coach Bruce Arena.

The USMNT will look to win this game to jump Panama in the standings. That will put the Yanks in third place, an automatic qualifying spot.

Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday April 14 at 10 am MT.
