Price Atkinson and Steve Carney kick things off with a recap of Week 2, as both Army and Navy improved to 2-0 on the season. The Black Knights earn a 24-7 win over Florida Atlantic, while the Midshipmen stay unbeaten with a 38-11 victory over Temple. Unfortunately, Air Force couldn’t keep pace, falling to San Jose State 17-7 at home in Colorado Springs.

To get a firsthand account of the Army-FAU matchup, the guys welcomed back old friend and former co-host Mike Loveall. After spending his Saturday in Boca Raton, Mike gives us details on the atmosphere brought by the contingent of Army fans.  He also breaks down the afternoons of both quarterback Bryson Daily and running back Noah Short.  They wrap up the conversation with criticism of Florida Atlantic’s coaching staff, saying they did not make any adjustments on defense after the first half.  Also, they question why down three scores midway through the fourth quarter, the Owls decided to go for it on fourth down while in field goal range.  FAU ended up not getting any points on the drive, and the Black Knights ended up running out the clock for the victory.

Yards and Stripes also recognizes another fallen service member who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country with the Travis Manion Foundation Honor Roll.

With Army and Navy both on byes for Week 3, the hosts preview the only game on the service academy football schedule: Air Force’s matchup against Baylor. They discuss the key factors that could determine the outcome of the game and offer their predictions.
