Isack Hadjar: From Karting Days to the Lights of Formula 1
Isack Hadjar is the newest addition to the 2025 grid. The rookie will join the circus as Yuki Tsunoda‘s teammate in the Faenza-based Racing Bulls team.
With Sergio Perez’s goodbye and Liam Lawson’s promotion to Red Bull, the team decided to promote Hadjar as the new star of Red Bull Racing.
Who is Isack Hadjar?
Isack Hadjar was born in Paris in a Franco-Algerian family in 2004. His passion for motorsport comes from his dad, even though there’s no direct connection to the paddock.
When he was 5 years old, Hadjar sat in a kart for the first time. Then, his dad had the proof he needed: he was born for racing.
At 7 years old, Hadjar had his own kart and his family supported him to take his first steps in motorsport. He started racing in national and international kart competitions.
In 2019, Hadjar left his karting days behind for a single-seater. He took part in the French Formula 4 championship. And despite it being his first season, Hadjar had good results with one win in Spa and two podiums. He finished the season seventh in the standings.

Formula 3 and Formula 2
In 2020, the Franco-Algerian was still driving for Formula 4, both on his home soil and in the Emirates. In the French championship, he collected eleven podiums and three wins, ending the season P3 in the standings.
He then made the jump to Formula 3 for the 2021 season, racing in FRECA and the F3 Asian Championship.
During his time in the Asian Championship, Hadjar was with the Evans GP team and conquered five podiums in nine races.
In Europe, he was with the French team R-ace GP. His first podium was in Barcelona, followed by his first pole position and first win in Monaco. Then in Monza, Hadjar won Race 2, finishing ahead of Paul Aron’s Prema. He was fifth at the end of the season and second in the rookies standings.
After that, in 2022, he took part in the Formula Regional Asia with Hitech Grand Prix and won in Dubai and Yas Marina.
His debut in FIA Formula 3 came in 2022. The 2024 F2 vice champion proceeded to win the first race of the season, in Sakhir. He followed that with a win in Race 1 in Silverstone and at the Red Bull Ring. At the end of the season, he was P4 in the Driver Championship.
Hadjar was then promoted to Formula 2 in 2023 with the support of Red Bull. In the series, he won four times: the Sprint and Feature Races in Melbourne, Imola, Silverstone and Spa. Those wins secured him second place in the 2024 Championship behind Gabriel Bortoleto and the pass for Formula 1.

In the same year, he drove the RB19 during FP1 in Abu Dhabi. He enjoyed the same experience in 2024 when he drove during the Free Practice sessions in Silverstone and Abu Dhabi.
On 20th December 2024, Red Bull announced its new lineup for the upcoming 2025 season. Liam Lawson was promoted to Red Bull to drive alongside Max Verstappen, with Sergio Perez being let go.
Hadjar was therefore announced as Tsunoda’s teammate at Racing Bulls, becoming another one of the rookies for the next season.
