Alfa Romeo’s C43 will showcase a new livery for this weekend’s race at the Belgian Grand Prix with new partnership.
At the start of the 2023 season, Alfa Romeo launched a partnership with Stake.com. One of stake’s ventures is streaming platform Kick. The platform launched in early 2023 as a direct competitor to Twitch TV. Kick promotes itself as a ‘creator-friendly’ streaming platform and has attracted over 10 million users in its first seven months.
At this weekend’s Grand Prix, Kick will have its name boldly featured on the bodywork of the C43. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou’s cars will showcase bright green Kick logos and decals on the rear wings, front wings, sidepods, and on the wheel rims too.
The new livery is quite the standout. In the words of team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi;
“The livery they created for us for Spa fits into this philosophy: it is different, it is striking, it is something designed to be different and create attention.”
Alfa Romeo will be hoping that they will be able to turn up the performance this weekend, not just their appearance. The Hungarian Grand Prix ended on a sour note for the Swiss team. The team started with the high of a strong qualifying performance to the challenge of a difficult race.
Zhou Guanyu started in P5, but ultimately suffered from an issue with the brake system strategy. This caused a fail-safe on the engine side and led to a horrible start of the Chinese man’s race. He lost multiple positions on the opening lap, into turn 1 and received a five-seconds penalty for a collision with Daniel Ricciardo, before finally finishing 16th. The events ended up affecting team-mate, Valtteri Bottas, as well, who lost ground as he avoided Zhou at the start of the race. The Finn did his best to climb up the grid, and eventually finished in 12th place. Alfa Romeo left the weekend with no points added to their tally.
