Ferrari has revealed the SF-23, its new car for the 2023 season, with a huge presentation in Maranello.
The Scuderia were the eighth team to reveal its livery but the first to organize such a large-scale event. The presentation took place at the Maranello headquarters, with a group of Tifosi in attendance. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were on hand as was Frederic Vasseur, the former Alfa Romeo Team Principal who replaces Mattia Binotto at Ferrari. After launching the SF-23 and the 2023 suits, Leclerc and Sainz drove the car on the Fiorano track as the Tifosi watched on. They are the first team to do the shakedown right after the reveal, even if they weren’t useful laps for the team’s preparations. That will have to wait until the upcoming Formula 1 test in Bahrain later this month.

The 2023 Livery
The SF-23 livery is dominated by the typical Ferrari red, with some notable differences from the 2022 car. On the rear wing, the team has added “Ferrari” written in white. The feature first appeared in yellow at last year’s Italian Grand Prix. Ferrari has also incorporated more black into this year’s car for weight saving.
2023 will be an important season for Ferrari, with a new Team Principal (Fred Vasseur) aiming to win the team’s first World Championship in sixteen years. During the presentation of the new car Vasseur stated:
“I can feel that everybody is very proud of the job done and this feeling is very important for the motivation of everybody and for the season. It will be a quite long season, but the motivation is there and it’s crucial in terms of performance”.
The expectations for this new season are high in Maranello and everyone is asking if Ferrari will be able to capitalize on the power of its new car this season and fight for the title. Last season saw Ferrari take a tremendous step forward in the first year of the new regulations. With another year of experience, two race-winning drivers, and a new Team Principal, can they take the title away from Red Bull Racing?
