ART Grand Prix has announced its second driver for the F1 Academy as GT and Endurance racer Carrie Schreiner returns to the Formula series.
24-year-old German Carrie Schreiner is the second driver to be announced by ART to represent them in the 2023 F1 Academy as she joins Lena Buhler. The German driver will be returning to the Formula series after seven years following time in Formula 4 categories. Schreiner is the fifth driver to be announced for the upcoming campaign.
Schreiner’s path to F1 Academy
Schreiner made her single-seater debut in 2015 after winning the 2012 X30 Junior Karting Championship. Racing in the Italian Formula 4 Championship with HTP Motorsport Schreiner finished 44th in the standings with a season-best finish of 15th. In 2016, Schreiner raced in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and part-time in the British F4 series. She finished 43rd in the Italian series and 17th in the British after scoring 14 points.
In 2017, Schreiner switched to GT racing where she competed in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Championship along with other Lamborghini series. Schreiner finished second in the standings in the Middle East championship after claiming five podiums in six races.
In 2018, she was a co-founder of WS Racing, an all-woman racing series. Schreiner would go on to claim the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East – Pro-Am and the DMV Gran Turismo Touring Car Cup in the same year. Schreiner finished third in the Nürburgring Endurance Series with WS Racing in 2020. Last year she ran in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the 24H GT Series, claiming just one podium in the GT Series.

Following the announcement, Schreiner stated:
“The car is quite similar to an F4 car and I had some experience in this category a few years ago. It will certainly be fun to drive the car with the new aero and with a team like ART. I have the best requirements I need to perform well. I will give everything to achieve the best results and compete for front positions.”
Sebastien Philippe (Team Principal at ART Grand Prix) added:
“I’m happy to welcome Carrie into our team. Her experience and technical background will be important pillars for building a strong career in the new F1 Academy championship. She has already proven that she can adapt to some very different championships and I have no doubt she will find her feet right from the start of the season.”
