Since retiring from Formula 1 at the end of 2022, Sebastian Vettel has not competed in any racing series. However, the 4-time World Champion completed an endurance test with Porsche earlier this year. Looking ahead to next year’s 24 hours of Le Mans, Porsche see Vettel as a candidate for their Hypercar entry,

At various points over the last two years, there have been reports linking Sebastian Vettel to a racing return.
He was even linked to a potential F1 comeback with Audi, although these rumours were little more than speculative.
Still, this does not mean Vettel should be ruled out from competitive racing in the future.
There are options for the 37-year-old in Endurance racing, including next year’s 24 hours of Le Mans.
Porsche considering their options
Urs Kuratle, factory director of Porsche LMDH, has discussed Porsche Penske’s Hypercar entry for next year’s Le Mans race:
“We are short of one driver, that is mathematically true,” he told sportscar365.com.
“We have to think about it, obviously, when we came up with that decision. That’s something we’re evaluating but there’s no name there.
“There’s nothing set yet; it’s not decided, but obviously we have it in our mind.
When asked about the possibility of Sebastian Vettel being Porsche’s third driver, Kuratle said the following:
“I’m not ruling it out. Sebastian and Porsche AG, they have a friendly relationship.
“They talk to each other. I cannot rule it out at the moment, but it’s not set.”
At this stage, there is no guaranteeing that Vettel will compete in next year’s World Endurance Championship.
There have been very few indications the 37-year-old is seriously considering a full-time return to racing.
However, it would be a stretch to rule him out from competing in events like the 24 hours of Le Mans.
Sebastian Vettel will certainly have several options at his disposal – whether in WEC or elsewhere.
The question is whether his interest and desire to get behind the wheel is still there.
