F1 to Launch the 2025 Season at London’s The O2

F1 will host a groundbreaking 2025 season launch event at London’s The O2.

F1 will kick off its 2025 season in style at The O2 in London on 18 February 2025, with an evening event from 20:00 to 22:00 GMT. This high-profile launch will bring together the entire grid, featuring the ten teams – Alpine, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Haas, Kick Sauber, McLaren, Mercedes, RB, Red Bull, and Williams – alongside their 20 drivers and Team Principals.

The evening will also see the sport celebrate its 75th anniversary with a preview of the 2025 liveries.

F1 has partnered with some of the industry’s top creative forces to ensure an unforgettable evening for fans. Brian Burke of BrianBurkeCreative will oversee the night’s entertainment, with Stufish Entertainment Architects and DX7 Design providing the visual concepts, and production company 1826 handling the event’s logistics.

BrianBurkeCreative previously were behind the opening and closing ceremonies for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023.

Burke expressed his enthusiasm for the event:

“It’s an incredible honour to continue to partner with Formula 1 creating new entertainment experiences, especially this brand-new launch event of the 2025 season celebrating the 75th anniversary of the sport.

“Through our collaboration with all 10 teams, fans can be assured we’ll be delivering a truly exciting live experience combining the unveiling of the new liveries, interviews with the biggest names in F1, and cutting-edge entertainment. It will be a never-before-seen event not to be missed!”

What can fans expect?

Alongside the liveries, there will be interviews with the drivers and Team Principals, entertainment and special guest presenters. This will be an interactive season launch event.

The 2025 season launch will also reveal the official driver pairings, with several line-up changes across the grid. Ferrari will feature Lewis Hamilton joining Charles Leclerc. Mercedes introduces rookie Kimi Antonelli alongside George Russell, a fresh start for the German team. Williams has brought Carlos Sainz to team up with Alex Albon.

Alpine welcomes rookie Jack Doohan, who will partner with Pierre Gasly, while Sauber introduces Gabriel Bortoleto alongside the seasoned Nico Hülkenberg. Haas adds rookie Ollie Bearman, who will team up with Esteban Ocon.

Meanwhile, RB has yet to confirm their 2025 driver pairing. Yuki Tsunoda remains, though the second seat is still uncertain. Liam Lawson, a contender for promotion to the main Red Bull team, may retain his spot, but should he advance, RB might turn to Franco Colapinto or Isack Hadjar to fill the role.

These line-ups, full of new talents and returning faces, ensure an intriguing 75th anniversary season in F1.

Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO of Formula 1, highlighted the excitement around the upcoming launch:

“For the first time we will bring together our fans, all 20 superstars of our sport and some very special guests to officially kick off our new season and mark our 75th year of racing.

He added, “With 2025 set to be a classic season following all the drama so far for 2024, this is a fantastic opportunity for fans of all ages to experience up-close the incredible entertainment spectacle that is Formula 1.”

How much are tickets?

What if I cannot attend?

Those unable to attend can still catch all the action live, as organisers plan to broadcast the event.

Sky Sports, which holds exclusive UK broadcast rights to Formula 1, will likely carry the live coverage of the 2025 season launch event at The O2. However, given that Channel 4 airs the British Grand Prix live at Silverstone, their only live broadcast each year, there is potential for an exception here.

If Liberty Media permits, Channel 4 could gain access to the event live, reaching a broader UK audience and attracting new fans to the sport, especially with the launch being held on home soil. What better way to align to increase fan engagement, particularly as the sport celebrates its 75th anniversary?

Full broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks. This will include additional information about the evening’s schedule for those who succeed in their ticket hopes.
