Formula E is getting ready for the biggest calendar of its entire history.
The electric championship finished Season 10 in July, with the double round held by the London provisional circuit. However, teams and drivers don’t have much time to recharge their energy, with Season 11 starting in December. The new calendar has seventeen rounds, hosted by eleven different locations: it is the longest season of Formula E so far.

Two new entries: Miami and Diriyah
Saudi Arabia already hosted FE in the past years, but the State presents a new location for the race. The Diriyah layout is ready to surprise teams, drivers, and fans during Season 11. The second new entry on the calendar is Miami. The American city saw the Formula E cars on its street only once, during Season 1. After ten years, the category goes back to race there, with the Homestead-Miami Speedway – which also hosted IndyCar and NASCAR – becoming the stage of this new race.
Italy and Portland out of the calendar
Formula E had to say goodbye to the Italian round. After the Rome E-Prix, held until Season 9, and the Misano appointment – which took place only once, in Season 10, Italy is not present in the new calendar. It is an important loss for the category, that could be interesting in returning to the Country in the future. At the same time, the Portland circuit leaves space for the Miami round, with Formula E only racing once in the States during Season 11.
Six doubleheaders
Season 11 calendar is characterized by the high number of doubleheaders. The first circuit to host two races will be Diriyah, with the third and the fourth appointments. Later, in May, rounds seven and eight will take place in Monaco. It is going to be the first time that Montecarlo hosts two FE races.
The ninth and tenth races will also be held by the same circuit; Tokyo. After the success of the Season 10 round, the electric championship comes back to Japan. Another doubleheader is waiting for the end of May in Shanghai. The Chinese Avenue will host rounds eleven and twelve. A classic makes his return to the calendar even in Season 11: the Berlin double round. The season finale is going to take place, once again, in London, with the last rounds – race sixteen and race seventeen – scheduled for the end of July.
TBC – the round is yet not decided
There is still a race to insert in the Formula E Season 11 calendar. The fifth appointment of the championship – set for 8th March – has yet to be announced. The final decision will be made in the next months, with Formula E discussing the details with a possible new avenue. The location of round five will become public only after the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council Meeting, taking place in the autumn.
