All to know so far with the Formula E driver market regarding Season 11.
FE is preparing for Season 11, which will start in December. The eleven teams on the grid are changing or confirming their lineups, to be in the best shape for the next challenge. These are the latest Formula E market news.
ABT Lola, a new grid member
Season 11 will see on track a new team, the ABT Lola. Cupra leaves the electric championship, with the historical logo taking its place. ABT Cupra raced Season 10 with Lucas Di Grassi and Nico Mueller. The Brazilian driver, who has participated in Formula E since its first season, will stay with ABT, wearing the new Lola suit during the next season. Instead, the German is leaving the team, staying in FE.
Andretti: Dennis and Mueller to win again
Nico Mueller joins Andretti after leaving ABT Cupra. This is one of the main Formula E market news. The German driver is the new teammate of the Season 9 World Champions Jake Dennis. The American team, which parted away with Norman Nato after only a season, chose Mueller intending to win again. Andretti didn’t win any title in a misfortunate Season 10 and hope the new lineup will make the difference.
Norman Nato: goodbye Formula E?
The French driver Norman Nato is leaving Andretti after only a season together. Nato, who drove for Nissan before moving into the American garage, hasn’t yet announced his future destination. With many names on the market, is possible for the French to leave the championship and concentrate on WEC. However, there is still the possibility for him to be contacted by one of the eight teams that haven’t yet confirmed their lineup.
Maserati: Vandoorne and Hughes for a brand new lineup
Maserati changes its whole lineup for Season 11. After two years, the team parted away with Maximillian Guenther and said goodbye to Jean Daruvala after only a season. The Italian-Monegasque team opted for a veteran of the category: Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian driver, who has raced in Formula E since 2018, has left DS Penske after the last season. On the other side of the garage, there will be Jake Hughes, the Brit who drove for McLaren during the past two years.

McLaren: time for a change
The British team parted away with both their drivers after Season 10. Jake Hughes, as already said, is going to race with Maserati alongside Stoffel Vandoorne. There isn’t yet market news on the future of Sam Bird, who previously raced for Jaguar. McLaren could sign Taylor Barnard, the F2 driver who debuted during the Berlin E-Prix.
Two lineups are already locked up
There won’t be market news for two teams: Jaguar and Mahindra. The first one won the Teams Championship in Season 10, with both Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans involved in the fight for the World Champion title. The British team decided to keep racing with the two New Zealanders, hoping to conquer both titles next year.
The Indian team has also confirmed both its drivers: Edoardo Mortara and Nyck De Vries. After a difficult season for the team, which had to face many technical issues during the sixteen rounds of the calendar, Mahindra decided to keep working with the Swiss and the Dutch driver, ready to race with the new Gen3 Evo car.
