Formula E: Teams Season Review and How Jaguar Won the Title

Formula E Season 10 ended two weeks ago, with Jaguar achieving the Teams’ title after sixteen rounds, beating Porsche.

Jaguar – The most consistent lineup

Mitch Evans and Nyck Cassidy composed the winning lineup for Formula E Season 10. Both drivers fought for the Drivers Championship until the end of the season, losing the possibility of becoming World Champion during the last race of the season. The New Zealanders’ drivers stepped on the podium fourteen times. This means that a Jaguar driver wasn’t on one of the steps in two races during the entire season. Of the 14 podiums, only four of them were victories, a crucial element of the Drivers’ Title fight. After the London E-Prix, Jaguar won the title with 368 points.

Porsche – Success in the Drivers Championship, delusion for the Teams

A tough title battle characterized the 2024 FE season, with Pascal Wehrlein coming on top of the classification. However, Porsche wasn’t able to obtain the Team World Title. The German driver and Antonio Felix Da Costa won – together – seven races, stepping on the podium nine times. The team lineup has been one of the strongest during the season, conquering the head of the Teams’ championship during the first part of the calendar. In the latest race, however, the loss of points by Da Costa – who performed in the best way during the first months – brought Porsche to accept second place. At the end of the season, Porsche had 332 points.

DS Penske – A difficult season

DS Penske finished FE Season 10 in third place in the championship, scoring only 200 points. Stoffel Vandoorne and Jean-Eric Vergne had a difficult season, stepping on the podium only four times during the entire championship. The team didn’t win any races this year, also due to the many technical issues and incidents that saw the two golden cars involved.

Nissan – Rowland’s main role during the season

Nissan Season 10 wasn’t one of the best. Oliver Rowland started the year in the best way possible, winning two races and obtaining seven podiums. On the other end, Sacha Fenestraz lived one of the most difficult seasons of his career, never stepping on the podium and often finishing out of the points. The situation caused the British team to lose many points, finishing the Teams Championship in fourth position, with 182 points.

Andretti – From the Drivers Title in FE Season 9 to the delusion of FE Season 10

After Season 9, Andretti was expected to be one of the main characters of Season 10. Jake Dennis, last season’s World Champion, lived a difficult 2024 and Norman Nato – Andretti’s new driver for 2024 – didn’t perform as the team hoped. The American crew conquered only one win in sixteen races, finishing on the podium five times. The Championship finished with Andretti in fifth place, after collecting 169 points.

Envision – A season to forget

Robin Frijns and Sebastien Buemi didn’t have one of their best seasons. Envision, which in 2023 was one of the main title contenders, lived Season 10 in the lowest positions in the standings. The team collected five podiums, but many DNFs caused the lineup to lose hope of obtaining the title after the first half of the season. By the end of the London E-Prix, the team had 121 points, finishing sixth in the standings.

McLaren – A not-so-brilliant championship

McLaren finished Season 10 with only one win, stepping on the podium twice during the sixteen races in the 2024 calendar. Jake Hughes and the newly arrived McLaren’s Sam Bird have had a difficult season. During the different E-Prix, the lineup was involved in different accidents and finished more than once out of the points.

Maserati – Sixteen races in the shadows

Maserati finished Season 10 in eighth position in the standings, collecting 81 points. The Italian-Monegasque team stepped on the podium twice, winning one race, the Tokyo E-Prix. Max Guenther raced side by side with Jean Daruvala, the only rookie of the 2024 season. The Indian driver didn’t shine during the whole season, with the German collecting most of the points.

ABT Cupra – A forgettable Formula E season

Lucas Di Grassi and Nico Mueller have been the two drivers for ABT Cupra in Formula E Season 10. The team finished the season in ninth position in the standings, without seeing the podium once during the sixteen rounds in the calendar and collecting 56 points. ABT Cupra, which has been living through many difficulties during the past few years, didn’t find the pace hoped.

Mahindra – A difficult year

Mahindra collected only 47 points during Season 10, with Edoardo Mortara and Nyck De Vries representing the team. The lineup didn’t see the podium during the whole season, collecting many DNFs due to contacts and technical issues. The Indian team arrived second-last in the standings, underlining the need to take a step forward next year.

ERT – The last team in the FE standings

ERT is the youngest FE team, debuting in Formula E during Season 10. The brand-new team didn’t live an easy championship, finishing last with 23 points. ERT was represented by Dan Ticktum and Sergio Sette Camera, a lineup that – in 2023 – drove for NIO 333, the last name of ERT. The two drivers had to face many technical issues, which caused the team to stick to the last positions in the standings.
