Formula E has announced the Season 10 calendar, which presents seventeen rounds divided into seven months.
The main news is the confirmation of the Chinese and Indian appointments, following approval at the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting. The Chinese weekend is going to be held at the Shanghai International Circuit on May 25 and 26. While the electric championship will visit Shanghai for the first time. Formula E has raced in China before. The first-ever Formula E race took place in Beijing on the 13th of September 2014. Through the years, Sanya and Hong Kong also hosted an E-Prix. However, the category hasn’t come back to China since 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Formula E will also return to India. The Hyderabad E-Prix will be held on the 10th of February 2024, after the great success of the Season 9. The 2023 E-Prix delivered almost USD 84m uplift to the local economy, as reported by Nielsen Sports Analysis.
Another interesting spot on the calendar is Round 6 as Tokyo will host the first ever Japanese E-Prix. Not only that, the Japanese capital will host a motorsport event in its streets for the very first time.

The Italian E-Prix and the Jakarta weekend
There are still elements to be cleared, such as the Italian appointment and the Jakarta E-Prix. It’s probably time to say goodbye to the iconic Rome E-Prix, with the doubleheader held in Italy being labeled as ‘TBD’, To Be Decided.
The GEN3 cars aren’t suitable for the Roman circuit and Formula E is exploring new venues for the double round, with the permanent circuits being considered. The calendar will probably change after the announcement that the Jakarta E-Prix, set for 8 June, will not go ahead after the news regarding a campaigning period in the Indonesian presidential elections during most of the month.
