Formula E signs a new deal with CBS and Roku

Formula E announced a new deal with CBS and the introduction of Roku, as the streaming host of the championship.

Beginning in 2024, CBS Television Network will air five races live, these races will also be simulcast on Paramount+. In addition to this, CBS will also show one highlight package per round. Paramount+ subscribers can also watch Formula E races ad-free on Roku. It’s the first time Roku acquires live sports rights, and the streaming platform will broadcast the other 11 Formula E races.

Aarti Dabas, Formula E Chief Media Officer, stated: “We value the strength of our ongoing relationship with CBS. We are delighted to join forces with Roku and supercharge Formula E content on their market-leading platform.

Also David Eilenberg, Roku Media’s Head of Content, commented on the deal: It’s an honor to partner with Formula E on Roku’s first-ever live sports partnership, making it easier for millions of TV streamers to discover the thrill of Formula E races through the unique integrated viewing experiences only available on Roku. We look forward to working together with Formula E”.

All in all, this is good news for Formula E, as Roku is the leading TV Streaming Platform in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Increasing Formula E’s discoverability in North America. Roku’s library will also feature the docuseries ‘Unplugged’. Unplugged is Formula E’s version of F1’s Drive to Survive series and the platform will also show a recap of each Formula E season, race previews and highlights.
