Campos Racing has announced its second driver for the inaugural 2023 F1 Academy season as Lola Lovinfosse joins them.
Campos Racing has announced that Lola Lovinfosse will be partnering with Nerea Marti for the inaugural F1 Academy Championship after spending two seasons in the Spanish F4 Championship. Lovinfosse is the seventh driver to be announced for the upcoming campaign.
Lovinfosse’s path to the F1 Academy
Lovinfosse began her karting career in 2018 when she raced in the IAME Winter Cup X30 Juniors. In 2019, she finished in the top ten of the French series Trofeo delle Industri and would go on to finish in the top 15 in the 2020 WSK Champions Cup.
She graduated into single-seaters with the 2021 Spanish Formula 4 Championship with Drivex School where she finished 27th in the standings with zero points and a season-best finish of 16th. Lovinfosse retained her seat for 2022 but only raced for four rounds. Racing for Teo Martins Motorsport, Lovinfosse finished 37th in the standings with zero points after a best finish of 19th. Spending the remainder of 2022 in the Indian Racing League with Hyderabad Blackbirds, Lovinfosse raced alongside fellow F1 Academy driver Bianca Bustamante and finished 23rd in the standings after taking a third-place finish during the second round of the championship.

Following the announcement, Lovinfosse stated:
“I’m very proud to be joining Campos Racing in the new F1 Academy. I’m so thankful and honoured to take part in this championship with such a professional and experienced team.”
Adrian Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing) added:
“We are pleased to have Lola with us for the very first season of F1 Academy. Lola has already proved to be a strong Formula 4 contender and no doubts she is ready to take a key role in this new category. She is an excellent driver and we can set ambitious goals together.”
2023 F1 Academy Driver Lineup
With the season commencing in late April, there is still plenty of time to prepare for the campaign. The car will be Tatuus F4-T421, the same car that Lovinfosse used in the Spanish F4 Championship. With two seasons of experience in the car, will it be useful when the new series begins?
