Jenzer Motorsport has announced that Russian Nikita Bedrin will be their second driver for the 2023 Formula 3 season.

Seventeen-year-old Nikita Bedrin will be making his Formula 3 debut in March with Jenzer Motorsport. Bedrin will partner with fellow rookie Alex Garcia and is the 23rd driver to be announced for the upcoming season.

The 2022 Season

Bedrin made his single-seater debut in the 2021 Formula 4 UAE Championship where he competed in nine races with Xcel Motorsport. He finished 11th in the standings taking one podium while Xcel finished an astonishing 871 points ahead of Cram Durango in the team standings.

After participating in the 2021 Italian and ADAC Formula 4 championships where he finished eighth and fifth, Bedrin retained his seats in both championships for 2022 but switched to PHM Racing. Finishing fourth in the UAE and the Italian F4 seasons, Bedrin was invited to participate in the Formula 3 post-season test that took place in Jerez.

At the beginning of 2023, Bedrin announced that he would be racing in the inaugural Formula Regional Middle Eastern Championship with PHM Racing. The five-week event will finish on the 19th of February – just in time for the start of the F3 season. Bedrin currently sits 18th in the standings after six races due to suffering two DNFs and scoring zero points in two races.

Following the announcement, Bedrin stated:

“I’m very happy to have the opportunity to drive in the FIA F3 Championship! It is a big and important step. I’m ready to accept the challenge and make the most of it! I want to say a big thank you to PHM Racing for making it possible for me to drive at Jenzer Motorsport and for giving me this chance and believing in me.

Andreas Jenzer (Team Principal of Jenzer Motorsport) added:

“Nikita is young, talented and ambitious. We will work with him on his consistency and think he can surprise with very good results. In the post-season test in Jerez last autumn, he already did well with the powerful FIA F3 racing machine, which was new to him. We are looking forward to the season with him and are happy to start soon.”
