The 2019 NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals is a little over two weeks away, and the paint scheme announcements are rolling in.

This morning, Jason Johnson Racing announced that David Gravel’s No. 41 car would be layered in Axalta colors.

A little after, it was Bobby Mincer’s turn.

The Burlington, IA native announced a new look to his No. 15 car for the Super Bowl of Sprint Car Racing.

The design for the car features pink, blue, and yellow highlights to the car in a complete 180 from the USA scheme that hit the track during Nationals a season ago. It was designed by Scott Keppel.

Knoxville gives out an award at the Nationals for best appearing car, and both Mincer’s and Gravel’s will certainly be front-runners.

A year ago, Mincer qualified for a Nationals preliminary night feature after transferring into the race with a strong finish in his heat. For this team, it was a big deal.

When Nationals week rolls around the team will be hoping for another strong run in their prelim night, trying to repeat the success they had last year.

For now, though they’ll focus on Saturday’s Knoxville Championship Cup Series date that is paired with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars.

The ASCOC tour is owned by former NASCAR veteran Tony Stewart – who will be racing on Saturday in the heartland along with Mincer like always.

Mincer currently sits 15th in the Knoxville Cup Series standings and has corralled five A-Main starts this season in the series.

The NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals will take place in the second week of August (Wednesday Aug. 7 – Saturday Aug. 11). For more general sprint car coverage, give us a follow on twitter at @RacingVault.
