Scuderia Toro Rosso decided to offer an image of their car for the 2018 F1 season after pictures were leaked through the internet. The Faenza-based team ran a few laps at Misano for a pre-test filming day. Their official launch is scheduled to take place next Monday.
Toro Rosso Show An Official Image Of The New STR13
A simple look of the machinery immediately catches the eye the Honda badge in the car’s front. The “Halo” sports a little wing on top but other changes was hard to see. The car was driven by Brendon Hartley on the wet track at Misano.

After their pairing with engine supplier Honda, Toro Rosso’s livery was expected to change massively. However, their 2018 machinery looks fairly similar to the STR12.
Earlier in the day, the team offered a couple of videos which gave the fans a taste of the car’s sound. None of the videos showed the vehicle prominently. But after images were leaked, Toro Rosso chose to make public the official photo in their accounts on Social Media.

New Engine, New Drivers
The engine is not the only noticeable change in the team’s structure compared to 2017. The lineup is completely changed from last year’s beginning. Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat started 2017 with the STR12 in their hands, but a change-packed season propelled New Zealand’s Brendon Hartley and Frenchman Pierre Gasly to the Toro Rosso’s driving seat for 2018.
The Frenchman commented on the Instagram post which contained the car’s picture. Gasly described the machine as “The new beast”. While his teammate posted a message on Instagram with the STR13 picture and showed his happiness at getting back on track.

Toro Rosso expects their new auto gives them a chance to succeed next season. The latter half of 2017 was tough for Franz Tost‘s team, but they hope Honda will improve their overall performance.
Toro Rosso has finished seventh in the Constructors’ Championship the last four seasons.
