Dana White Says UFC Met FBI About Possible Fight Fix

After a suspeicious result to an undercard fight on November 1, UFC president Dana White said he met with the FBI about the possibility that the fight was fixed by the defeated contestant.

White said that the organization retains the company IC360 in order to monitor wagering on the sport.  On the afternoon of the fight, the company informed White of “unusual action” on the fight between Isaac Dulgarian and Yadier Del Valle, taking place on the undercard of the Steve Garcia-David Onama fight.  Del Valle, a heavy underdog, started receiving a large number of wagers going his way.

White told TMZ that the first thing he did was call both Dulgarian and his lawyer to ask if the fighter was trying to compete while injured or if he owed money to someone.  According to the UFC President, “The kid said, ‘No.  Absolutely not.  I’m going to kill this guy.'”

After Dulgarian was defeated by Del Valle by submission in the first round, White says the first thing he did was call the FBI.

“I’ve talked to the FBI twice [Tuesday],” White said.

White says any allegations of wide-spread match fixing are “bullshit”

While Dulgarian was summarily dismissed from the organization after the loss due to the fixing allegations, White says anyone who believes large quantities of matches are fixed in the UFC are misinformed.

“You see people out there talking, ‘There are hundreds of fights under investigation.’  That’s total bullshit,” the UFC president said.  “Total, usual, clickbait bullshit.”

White calls IC360 “the best in the business” when it comes to wager monitoring, and that the organization has used them for years.

“We get a report after every single fight that we do,” White said.  “We take this very serious, and we’re watching every single fight that happens in the UFC, from the first prelim to the main event.”
