Jon Rahm has refused to reveal what the future holds for LIV Golf, saying he cannot share details about ongoing discussions surrounding the league.
The Spanish golfer has been one of LIV Golf’s biggest stars since joining the tour at the end of 2023 in a high-profile move. Since then, he has won two straight season-long individual titles and is in a strong position to claim a third this season at LIV Golf UK.

However, questions remain about what the league will look like beyond this year. LIV Golf is searching for new financial backing after reportedly losing the support of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), creating uncertainty about the competition’s future.

Rahm Keeps Future Plans Private
During a press conference, Rahm was asked whether he expected to still be playing on LIV Golf in 2027. Instead of giving a direct answer, he made it clear that there were things he couldn’t discuss publicly.
“I’m not going to share anything that I can’t share with you guys right now,” Rahm said. Although he avoided confirming his long-term plans, the former Masters champion suggested that players have been kept informed about what is happening behind the scenes.
“We’re in contact with them. We know a lot of what’s going on. Not that I can share with you guys right now,” he explained. Rahm also said he remains hopeful despite the uncertainty surrounding the league.
“I’m always optimistic. I play a game for a living. I can’t really be too upset about how things are going in life,” he said. He added that while he often gets frustrated during tournaments, he has a different attitude away from the golf course.
Contract Still Has Years Remaining
LIV Golf is considering changes if it secures new investors. The proposed plan would reduce the schedule to 10 events, made up of five team competitions and five signature tournaments. However, no official announcement has been made.
Rahm is already under a long-term contract with LIV Golf, meaning he is expected to remain with the league for several more years unless something changes. Speaking earlier this year after reports emerged that the PIF would no longer support the league beyond this season, Rahm said he was not focused on possible exit options.
Rahm added that his priority is finishing the current season and competing in golf’s biggest events rather than worrying about what could happen in the future. While discussions continue behind the scenes, the 31-year-old said he isn’t ready to publicly discuss what those talks could mean for LIV Golf or his own future beyond 2026.
