Happy Football Friday, Y’all. How can it already be November? Before we dive into this week’s recipes did y’all save last week’s recipe “Halloween Weekend“? Did you go trick or treating? Did you get all the good candy? This week we have a collection of tailgate treats wrapped in bacon. Who knew you could wrap so many things/everything in bacon? Enjoy the bacon-wrapped greatness.
Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen tater tots, at room temperature
- 1-ounce sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1/4-inch squares
- 4 slices bacon, quartered
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.

Working one at a time, wrap each tater tot and cheese square in a piece of bacon. Repeat with remaining tater tots, cheese squares, and bacon pieces. Dredge each tater tot in the brown sugar, pressing to coat.

Place tater tots seam side down onto the prepared baking sheet. Place into oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, using metal tongs to turn at halftime.

Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.
Bacon Mac and Cheese Bites
Ingredients:
- 12 slices precooked bacon
- 2 1/2 cups of prepared macaroni and cheese
- 1/4 cup Italian Panko breadcrumbs
Instructions:
- Line a greased muffin pan with slices of precooked bacon.
- Divide the macaroni and cheese between the cups in the muffin pan.
- Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Allow the bacon mac and cheese cups to set and cool a bit in the pan before removing them.
Bacon Wrapped Avocados
Ingredients:
- 4-6 Strips of Bacon
- 1 Avocado
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2-1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
Instructions:

Heat the oven to 425

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and chili powder.

Set aside

Line a baking sheet with tin foil.

Cut open the avocado and remove the pit.

Slice about 3/4″ slices lengthwise through the avocado, and then cut through the middle to cut all of the slices in half so that you have thick chunks of avocado.

Cut each slice of bacon into 3-5 pieces and wrap each piece around the avocado.

Roll in the brown sugar mixture and place on the baking sheet.

Bake at 425 for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from the oven to a platter and stick a toothpick in each for serving.
Bacon Cheeseburger Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 1 envelope of onion soup mix
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons 2% milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
Coating:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup crushed saltines (about 30 crackers)
- 5 tablespoons canola oil
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine egg and soup mix. Crumble beef over the mixture and mix well. Divide into 36 portions; set aside. In another large bowl, combine the flour and milk until smooth. Add cheese and bacon; mix lightly but thoroughly.
- Shape the cheese mixture into 36 balls. Shape 1 beef portion around each cheese ball. In a shallow bowl, beat eggs for coating. Place cracker crumbs in another bowl. Dip meatballs into beaten eggs, then coat with crumbs.
- Heat oil in a large cast iron or another heavy skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs until meat is no longer pink and coating is golden brown, 10-12 minutes.
Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
Ingredients:
- 10 fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- Cooking spray
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 5 bacon strips, halved lengthwise
Instructions:
- Place asparagus on a sheet of waxed paper; coat with cooking spray. Sprinkle with pepper; turn to coat. Wrap a bacon piece around each spear; secure ends with toothpicks.
- Grill, uncovered, over medium heat until bacon is crisp, 4-6 minutes on each side.
- Discard toothpicks.
Bacon-Wrapped Cheese Bombs
Ingredients:
- 1 can biscuits (we used Grands Jr)
- 6 oz. mozzarella cheese in brick, cut into 10 cubes
- 5 slices of bacon cut in half
- 3 Tablespoons butter melted
- 2 cloves garlic grated
- toothpicks
Instructions:

Mix melted butter with garlic. Set aside.

Open the biscuits and place them on the cutting board.

Gently flatten the biscuit. Do not make it too thin or the cheese will escape during frying.

Brush the side up of a biscuit with garlic butter. Place one cube of cheese in the middle and close the sides, pinching the seam. Roll a few times in your hands. Place on a plate.

Repeat with each biscuit.

Wrap each biscuit in one half of a bacon slice, securing it with a toothpick. Place it back on the plate. Repeat with each biscuit.

In a skillet, preheat canola or vegetable oil to 350 degrees F. Not hotter.

Fry each biscuit, about 1,5 to 2 minutes on each side OR until the side is crispy brown.

Place fried cheese bombs on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.

Serve warm with a side of garlic butter or marinara sauce for dipping.
Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings
Ingredients:
- 12 slices of Onion – prefer sweet onions
- 2 teaspoons of Garlic Powder
- 12 Slices of Bacon, raw
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Use your fave seasoning to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with a little nonstick cooking spray or fit a baking rack inside.
- Wrap each onion with one slice of bacon, careful to keep the overlapping to a minimum. Place wrapped onion on baking sheet.
- Sprinkle each. onion with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes and carefully turn onions. Bake another 15-25 minutes until bacon is browned and crispy. Cool and serve.
