The Ohio State availability report is out for the Week 4 matchup with the Marshall Thundering Herd. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, they’ll be without one of their top defenders in the final tune-up before Big Ten play.
In addition to walk-on running backs TC Caffey and Rashid SeSay, Ohio State will be without defensive tackle Tyleik Williams.
Ohio State Availability Report Lists Crucial Starter Out Against Marshall
Missing Caffey and SeSay is not anything new for the Buckeyes as Caffey is out for the season and SeSay has yet to make an appearance for the Buckeyes. However, being without Williams may be massive.
According to reports, Williams’ injury is undisclosed but it was apparent that he was favoring his shoulder during the win over Western Michigan two weeks ago. Williams has been a force in the interior defensive line through two games. He’s made nine tackles, two tackles for loss, and one-and-a-half sack.
The Buckeyes will have to lean more on Ty Hamilton, Kayden McDonald, and Hero Kanu against a solid rushing attack from the Herd. Williams is considered one of the top defensive tackles in the country and has been projected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Hopefully, this is the only week Ohio State will be without its six-foot-three, 327-pound monster.
The good news is that Donovan Jackson looks to be all good to go for the Ohio State offensive line. In his absence, redshirt freshman Austin Siereveld stepped up. Over the first two games, he showed moments of inexperience but got better as he got more snaps. In the win over Akron, he was the highest-graded pass blocker among the offensive line.
Jackson is also believed to be a highly-touted NFL Draft prospect. His return should bolster an already solid offensive line for the Buckeyes.
