Nebraska could add another wide receiver to its already crowded ranks. Four-star prospect Isaiah Mozee has suddenly trended in this direction after being committed to the Oregon Ducks in April. Here are several reasons why the 185-pounder could join Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting push.
A Family Connection
The Nebraska Cornhuskers expanded their football staff once again with the addition of former Lee’s Summit North head coach Jamar Mozee as a senior analyst. In the past eight seasons with the Broncos, his father has led the team to a 64-35 record. This also included three appearances in the Missouri state semifinals and a quarterfinal bid in early 2024. He would also play a large role in developing talent for the college ranks. After a stellar season with the Broncos in 2022, Cayden Green would tally five starts at left guard for Oklahoma in his freshman season. At the defensive line position, Williams Nwaneri would make a similar impact. The five-star Missouri signee totaled 99 tackles in 2024. His talent should put him at the top of the Tigers’ depth chart on top of the talent that they already have at the position. But there is a concern. Mozee will have to adjust to the college ranks rather quickly. But once the senior analyst gets settled in, he should be able to restart the Huskers recruiting pipeline in Missouri.

The Wide Reciever Room
Under wide receivers coach Garrett McGuire, Nebraska has an exciting group of wideouts heading into the 2024 season. After spending four years at Wake Forest, Jahmal Banks joined NU’s roster. It’s a big addition to the Cornhuskers locker room. Alongside former Demon Deacon quarterback Sam Hartman, his 59 catches and four touchdowns cemented him as an elite playmaker. However, he wouldn’t be as automatic as a Husker. He vanished during the program’s spring game, which forced Dylan Raiola to branch out to other targets. One of these recipients was Isaiah Neyor. After an explosive year with the Wyoming Cowboys, his time with the Texas Longhorns was underwhelming. The 215-pound wideout was a non-factor under offensive coordinator Kyle Flood. Despite this setback, it looks as though he’ll be a solid contributor for the Cornhuskers this season. He’s regained much of his speed after excelling in the offseason. All signs point to a breakout year for Neyor, but Jaylen Lloyd could have an even bigger impact. In his freshman season with NU, the speedster put up 237 yards and three touchdowns. This doesn’t give Mozee a shot for immediate playing time as a freshman. But the competition at the starting position will eventually dwindle. Neyor is a redshirt senior who will be looking for a home in the NFL. And Banks could be a high draft choice depending on how his last year of eligibility shakes out. The stakes are going to be enormous for both of them in the new Big Ten alignment.
Offseason Momentum
TJ Lateef and Jamarion Parker are two of the most explosive members of Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class. Raiola also provides a big-play ability at the quarterback spot. These two prospects will have a hard time trying to duplicate the top-ranked quarterback’s play. But the chemistry between Mozee and Lateef could develop quickly in Glenn Thomas’s new system. The allure of being a starter should be enticing, but the Cornhuskers have also continued to work hard in the offseason to bring in new players. On the first day of July, three-star safety Jeremiah Jones committed to the Big Red after a quick visit with the Louisville Cardinals. Two days later, the program reached inside the 500-mile radius to secure a three-star offensive lineman in Shawn Hammerbeck. Amid the resignation of secondary coach Evan Cooper, the Big Red also reloaded on defense. In only 24 hours, Buffalo Bills defensive backs coach John Butler was tabbed as the next leader of Nebraska’s secondary. There’s some early return on the Cornhuskers investment with Bryson Webber’s pledge to the program. Is this a good indicator of things to come with Mozee?
