USC Adds Another Top EDGE to Its 2025 Recruiting Class

The 2025 USC recruiting class got a major bump on Sunday. Four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe became the 13th commitment of the class.

The USC Trojans have been on a tear on the recruiting trail and on June 9th, four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe became the 13th member of Lincoln Riley‘s 2025 class. He marks the seventh Trojan commit on the defensive side of the ball. Lowe is the fourth commitment on the defensive line. The 2025 USC recruiting class already holds a commitment from the number-one EDGE in the nation, Isaiah Gibson out of Georgia.

According to 247Sports‘ rankings, Lowe is the 19th-best EDGE recruit and 23rd-best overall player from California. He’s the third recruit from California to commit to the Trojans in this cycle.

Lowe commits to USC over 28 other programs that extended offers. Those programs include the likes of UCLA, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Miami (FL).

The 247Sports scouting department is quite high on Lowe. The talented EDGE rusher hails from the same high school as top-five NFL Draft pick, Kayvon Thibodeaux. Lowe is considered to have a similar ceiling as the former Oregon star.

He has a solid frame at 6′-4″, 240 pounds, and is projected as a long-term contributor on the defensive line. Lowe can play anywhere on the defensive line with his impressive athleticism. The best part of Lowe’s game is that he is a strength in both passing and rushing situations. He has impressive strength and can win from anywhere on the line.

Lowe has a quick first step off the snap and can win with finesse as well as power along the edge.

This commitment makes the 2025 USC recruiting class jump to fourth in the 247Sports rankings, trailing only Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Clemson. Of the top four, USC and Clemson have the fewest total commits at this juncture with 13. Three of the top-rated players in the Trojans’ class are defensive linemen.

Based on the social media fervor, Lowe might not be the only recruit to commit in the coming days.
