Happy Football Friday All Y’all! Today on our Tasty Tailgate Treats we have cheese balls and meat balls. What else do you need when you are watching football? Did you save the recipes from last week’s kickoff weekend? This week is everything balls. in honor of college football. Any of the recipes below can be made with plant based meat and cheese. You do you and choose YOUR favorite meat and cheese.
Sideline Sausage Balls
Ingredients:
- 3 Cups Bisquick
- 1 lb sage or hot flavored sausage roll
- 1 Cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients. Roll into 1/2 tightly packed balls.

Place sausage balls on prepared cookie sheets, leaving a 2 inch space between balls.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink
Barbecue and Beer Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 1 package (22 ounces) frozen fully cooked Angus beef meatballs
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/3 cup beer
- Thinly sliced jalapeno pepper, optional
Directions:
- Prepare meatballs according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine barbecue sauce and beer; heat through.
- Add meatballs; stir to coat. If desired, top with sliced jalapeno.
Football BBQ Pulled Pork Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
- 1 package of BBQ Pulled Pork Belly or your favorite bbq pork
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/3 cup sliced green onion
- 2 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded (reserve one plank of the brick of cheese to make the laces of the football)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce
- 1/2 BBQ sauce
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine BBQ pulled pork belly, parsley, green onion, softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, hot sauce, and dried spices. Beat with a hand mixer or in a stand mixer until everything is well-combined and there are no large lumps.
- Pile the mixture onto the middle of a serving tray and form it into the shape of a football with your hands. Smooth it out as much as you can. Spread the top with an even thick layer of BBQ sauce. Top with a few strips of cheese to make the lace of the football. You could also use a piece of string cheese for this step.
- Allow to chill in the fridge for at least two hours or overnight. Serve with your favorite crackers, chips, or pretzels.
Cracked Out Cheese Ball

Ingredients:
- 2 (8-oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 (1-oz) package Ranch dressing mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup cooked chopped bacon
- ⅔ cup chopped pecans
Directions:

Combine cream cheese, Ranch mix, cheddar cheese and bacon.

Divide cheese mixture in half. Shape each half into a ball. (Can make one large ball if you prefer.)

Roll each ball into chopped pecans. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Bacon Cheeseburger Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons 2% milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
Coating:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup crushed saltines (about 30 crackers)
- 5 tablespoons canola oil
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine egg and soup mix. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
- Divide into 36 portions; set aside.
- In another large bowl, combine the flour and milk until smooth.
- Add cheese and bacon; mix lightly but thoroughly.
- Shape cheese mixture into 36 balls.
- Shape 1 beef portion around each cheese ball. In a shallow bowl, beat eggs for coating.
- Place cracker crumbs in another bowl.
- Dip meatballs into beaten eggs, then coat with crumbs.
- Heat oil in a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet over medium heat.
- Cook meatballs until meat is no longer pink and coating is golden brown, 10-12 minutes.
Football Cookies and Cream Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
- 24 chocolate sandwich cookies
- 8 oz. cream cheese softened
- ½ cup butter softened
- 2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 2 cups powdered Sugar
- White frosting or white chocolate for decorating*
- additional cookies, graham crackers, pretzels etc
Directions:

Either finely chop 12 of the sandwich cookies or pulse them into small pieces in your food processor.

In food processor or mixer, blend cream cheese, butter and chocolate syrup.

Blend in powdered sugar and then stir in finely chopped sandwich cookies.

Roll into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap.

Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Chop remaining sandwich cookies. Then shape cheese ball into a football and coat with bits of sandwich cookies. Press them in to secure.

Use white icing or melted white chocolate to form laces.

Serve with pretzels, grahams, small cookies etc.
