As Championship November approaches, typically the Heisman Trophy comes into focus. However, it’s about as wide open as we’ve ever seen it this deep into the season. But, we have two new entries in our top this week, and could we have a new leader? Before we get into the top half, let’s take a look at all of the contenders in our 2021 week eight Heisman rankings.
Bryce Young and Matt Corral seem to be at the top of everyone’s Heisman lists. However, with nobody else taking charge it’s possible that we could see some new faces in the coming weeks. Will Kenny Pickett or C.J. Stroud continue the climb up the leaderboard? With just over a month left to play, who will take advantage of that Heisman moment? With that being said, let’s take a look as we unveil our 2021 week eight Heisman rankings.

Top Five Candidates
1. Matt Corral
QB | Ole Miss Next Game: 10/30 at Auburn
Corral stays put at number one despite having a somewhat subpar performance against LSU. He had a total of 209 yards both through the air and on the ground in the 14-point win over the Tigers. Corral and the Rebels head to the road in Jordan-Haire to face Auburn on Saturday which could prove to be a huge weekend for Corral.

2. Bryce Young
QB | Alabama Next Game: 11/6 vs LSU
Young continues to perform at an extremely high level with 26 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He had his best passing game of the season with 371 passing yards. Additionally, he added a couple of rushing touchdowns against Tennessee. The Crimson Tide has the week off before hosting rival LSU on Saturday.

3. Kenneth Walker III
RB | Michigan State Next Game: 10/30 vs Michigan
After enjoying the week off, Walker and the Spartans host Michigan in the premier game of the weekend. He has enjoyed the lighter side of the Big 10 schedule and now he must face Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State over the next five weeks. Starting this week, with the opportunity to make a statement on the national stage.

QB | Pittsburgh Next Game: 10/30 vs Miami, Fl

5. C.J. Stroud
QB | Cincinnati Next Game: 10/30 vs Penn State
The next new member of the top five here is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country. Stroud has spearheaded four straight 50-plus point performances for the Buckeyes. Stroud will now face his toughest test on defense this season as the Nittany Lions come calling. However, Stroud has the stage and the capabilities to make a run to the top.
