The Oklahoma Sooners have officially signed defensive end Reggie Grimes, a 6-foot-4, 242-pound defensive end out of Brentwood, Tennessee. Grimes is a four-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite. He also had offers from Alabama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss among others.
Oklahoma Sooners Sign Reggie Grimes
Grimes might be the most athletic defensive recruit is this 2020 class. He was one of the most dynamic players in terms of this year’s combine. His rare blend of speed, physicality, and athleticism could allow him to play defensive end or linebacker at Oklahoma.
Grimes joins what has turned into a position of strength at Oklahoma. But, he will have every opportunity to provide depth and even get plenty of minutes this year. However, with Alex Grinch’s willingness to play freshmen, there is no reason to think that Grimes will not be given every opportunity to play in his first year in Norman.
Grimes caps off what has been another excellent recruiting period for the Sooners, as they look to maintain their position as a perennial contender for Big XII titles, and of course, a national championship in the coming years.
