The Hurricanes are adding some much-needed help at wide receiver. Their top overall commit at the position has signed with Miami. Michael Redding III is an athletic specimen from the powerhouse IMG academy. Important to note, at 6’2 194 pounds, the Under Armour All-American will compete for playing time immediately.
Michael Redding III Signs Early With Miami
First, Redding picked Miami over offers from Florida State, Florida, Purdue and Auburn. Comparatively, the standout receiver is rated as the 167th best player in the nation by 247 Sports. Miami will look to use his 41-inch vertical jump against smaller defenders. This summer he was invited to the Opening Finals where he was a top performer for in 7 on 7 play. In fact, Redding will be joining a host of other Hurricane commitments in the Under Armour All-American game.
But, after the Under Armour game, he will be enrolling at the University of Miami in January and getting an early jump on his freshman season. Redding could challenge for a starting position after the departures of KJ Osborn and Jeff Thomas.
