The Oklahoma Sooners have officially signed Marvin Mims, a 6-foot-0, 173-pound wide receiver out of Frisco, Texas. Mims is a four-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite. He has offers from Colorado, Stanford, and Arizona among others.
Marvin Mims Signs with the Oklahoma Sooners
Mims comes to Oklahoma as the 43rd ranked wide receiver in the country as part of the 2020 recruiting class. Also, Mims is the 39th ranked player overall in the state of Texas this year. In fact, Mims became the all-time single-season yardage leader this year with 2,483 yards.
Mims is one of only two receiver commits in this class for the Sooners. With one of the most impressive classes in school history with three five-star receivers in the 2019 class, this wasn’t necessarily a position of need this season.
McClellan joins a room of returning true sophomores from the 2019 class that all played as true freshmen in Theo Wease, Jadon Haselwood, and Trejan Bridges. With the wealth of talent at the receiver position, it stands to reason that Mims would be a perfect redshirt candidate.
