Miami Adds Four Star DL Jason Blissett

The Hurricanes will be looking to replace potential first round pick Gerald Willis on the defensive line. Miami traveled as deep as New York to find a player that in the future might have the same type of success. Jason Blissett from Poly Prep high school in New York could be the next in that mold.

Jason Blissett Signs Early With The Hurricanes

With an emphasis this class on adding defensive linemen to the team, Miami adds quality in Blissett. The New York native netted a Miami offer after flying down to South Florida for a camp at the school. After a good performance coaches were impressed enough to give Blissett an offer.

Since then Blissett has added offers from Tennessee, Florida and Texas A&M. 247 Sports rated Blissett as the number two player in the state of New York and a top 250 player nationally.

At 6-3, 270 pounds there is enough room for Blisset to add another 25 pounds during his career at Miami. His explosion off of the ball and technique to get off block will make Blissett a candidate to play early. In addition to football, Miami was a fit for Blissett as he has plans to become a federal agent.
