Week Seven Heisman Rankings

2022 Week 11 Heisman Rankings

Dwayne Haskins is continuing to make a solid push. Haskins leads the country in touchdown passes with 28 and is coming off of his second consecutive 400-yard passing performance. There is a considerable spread between the top two ranked players and the rest of the pack. We look at this in our week seven Heisman rankings.

Will Grier plummeted in this week’s rankings with the poor performance in the loss to Iowa State. Grier only threw for 100 yards and the offense only scored seven points.  Kyler Murray and Travis Etienne both enjoyed bye weeks and get back on the field against tough defensive teams. The Sooners face TCU on the road and Etienne faces NC State at home. Now, Let’s find out about the complete list as we dive right into our week seven Heisman rankings.

Top Five Candidates

1. Tua Tagovailoa

QB | Alabama                                                    Next Game: 10/20 at Tennessee

You could have heard a pin drop collectively through the state of Alabama. Tagovailoa went down with an apparent knee injury. Fortunately, for Tide fans, he jogged off under his own power and the injury seemed minimal. But, still playing in half a game allowed him to put up nearly 300 yards passing and three more scores. Tagovailoa still is without an interception on the season.

2. Dwayne Haskins

QB | Ohio State                                                     Next Game: 10/20 at Purdue

Haskins keeps putting up huge numbers. Against Minnesota, he had another 400-yard, three touchdown performance. However, the Buckeyes again struggled against a lesser opponent. This week, Ohio State travels to face Purdue. The Boilermakers have won their last three including a 46-7 victory last week against Illinois.

3. Kyler Murray

QB | Oklahoma                                                     Next Game: 10/20 at TCU

The bye week came at a perfect time for Kyler Murray and the Sooners. Although the defense has been at the forefront of the conversation, the offense has had a tremendous start to the season. Murray will look to continue that play as the Sooners face a struggling TCU team on Saturday.

QB | West Virginia                                                    Next Game: 10/25 vs Baylor

It was a tough night for Will Grier and the offense against Iowa State. West Virginia scored a touchdown on their third possession but did not score again on offense for the rest of the game. Grier threw for just 100 yards in the 16-point loss. The Mountaineers have a bye week to lick their wounds before hosting Baylor next Thursday night.
