Nesta Silvera Officially Signs With Miami

The coaches at Miami landed the top defensive tackle on their board with the signing of Nesta Silvera. There was chatter at a possible flipping of his commitment after taking visits to schools such as Tennessee and Florida. In the end Miami was able to keep the Army All-American at home, which helps the need at defensive tackle. Silvera is rated as the number two defensive tackle in the nation by 247 Sports.

Mean Streak

Silvera earned the reputation as the nastiest player in the entire 2018 class. The American Heritage standout even goes by the nickname “Trench Bully” and Miami will need him to be just that. After losing several defensive tackles to the NFL Draft, the depth chart favors Silvera and he will receive playing time as a freshman.

Many recruiting services left impressed with Silvera after his performance in practices during the Army All American game. He left an impression enough that he was in the conversation as being a five star prospect. The mean streak of Silvera was also on display at “The Opening” last summer, another event in which he impressed in.

With his signature the Miami coaches can relax a bit more after securing the number 54 rated player in the country by 247 sports.
