The latest to sign with the University of Miami hails from the peach state. Marquez Ezzard was at one time a Florida State commitment but he would decommitt in early November. Ezzard becomes the fourth wideout to sign with Miami in the 2018 recruiting class, he chose Miami over Ole Miss.
With Mark Richt having strong ties to the state of Georgia, from his days as the head coach of the Bulldogs, many prospects have been interested. Ezzard becomes the latest add from Georgia joining DeeJay Dallas on the offensive side of the ball.
Strong Emphasis on Physicality
Last season Miami showcased a physical group of wide receivers from a blocking perspective. The addition of Ezzard adds to that as he can be seen blocking downfield, as well as making tough contested catches. This helps Miami moving forward with the possibility that Ahmon Richards could be an NFL Draft pick next season.
Miami’s group of wide receivers should be a strength of the offense next season, regardless of who ends up starting at quarterback. The group possesses versatility from a speed, and length perspective. Ezzard adds another variety of skills and helps in the red zone, an area in which Miami struggled with last season.
