Mordecai played in Waco, Texas this season at Midway High School. He has benefited from an outstanding senior season. Incredibly, Mordecai has accounted for 68 touchdowns this season. Through the air, he has 3,796 yards with 47 scores and only eight interceptions. On the ground, he has 1,070 yards and another 21 touchdowns.

Mordecai verbally committed to the Sooners in October. The Sooners beat out Baylor, Illinois, and Georgia for his services.

All eyes will be on the quarterback position in 2018. The departure Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield will loom large. The clear leader in the clubhouse will be Kyler Murray.  Also, Austin Kendall will be an active participant in the competition as well. Murray and Kendall will be juniors next year at Oklahoma. Mordecai will most likely redshirt in 2018. This will give him an opportunity to learn from Murray and Kendall. Riley will groom Mordecai to be the next superstar at Oklahoma.
